Some people equate economy with cheap and that is not the case with the glacier bay faucet. This faucet like all faucets on the market are going to have failure in their lifetime. When the glacier bay faucets starts to leak you can most likely fix the problem quickly and cheaply.

Here at we have listed some common problems that have been reported to happen and some suggestions to fix your problem.

Problem:  Water leaks out when you use the sprayer or the faucet as a whole has low pressure.

Solution:  This problem is caused by lime build-up. The divider gets corroded and cannot close all the way, so that when you use the sprayer it will not switch to spray only and you will see water leak out. Usually when this happens you will also have low pressure. Sometimes the low pressure will be your first symptom and if not addressed you will then experience the sprayer problem. Depending on the amount of build-up of lime you may be able to fix your problem by taking apart the faucet and soaking it in a lime away solution for a few days. This should soften the lime deposit to where you can clean it off. Unfortunately if the build-up has gone on for to long, you may have to replace the faucet.

Problem:  Water drips slowly or has a constant flow of water, which can not be corrected by tightening the handle.

Solution: Usually you will notice the hot water side leaking first. If this is ignored you may start to notice that your cold water will be on the warm side. This can be costly because that means your hot water heater has to constantly heat water, running up your electric or gas bill along with a higher water bill. This is a easy fix.  Almost all glacier bay faucets have a repair kit that you can purchase at most big box stores. If you can not find a repair kit for your faucet, look for a universal leak repair kit and this should have the necessary replacement washers for your faucet. It is recommended that you replace both sides at the same time even if one side is not leaking. Repair is easy, just remove the valve stem, remove the small screw and then replace the washer. This is a very easy repair and is a
cheap fix.

One other problem that has been reported a few time is water leaking from the stem when there appears to be no way for the water to come out. If this is your problem, it usually means it is time to replace the faucet. This happens because during the casting of the faucet there was a defect in the process and the casting usually has small pits that form into very small holes that will eventually get bigger causing your leak.
